Jennifer will be presenting at the ASHA Convention in Denver on November 12, 2015 from 10:30 - 12:30 in Mile High 1C and 1D at the Convention Center. The presentation is entitled: Home Practice Principles for Children with Speech Sound Disorders: Facilitating Generalization.
For children with speech sound disorders, research suggests that home practice facilitates generalization to other speaking contexts. This session presents evidence-based home practice principles and examples of meaningful activities. Motor learning principles allow SLPs to select appropriate tasks that incorporate a child’s strengths and interests into existing family routines. ASHA Convention attendees may download the one-page handout and the full PowerPoint handout here. See you in Denver!
